| Fools in the Rain |

Vermonters are bloody-minded about their outdoor events. Some rah-rah waterfront festival thing had a parade down Main Street in a steady downpour with thunder rumbling and lightning crackling overhead. So naturally I went out and joined the other fools in the rain after the second fife and drum set passed by.
Burlington paraders' freak flag waves higher and wider than I recall it doing in past years. I approve, though I always feel vaguely uncomfortable about the cultural music and/or dance performances from, say, Japan or Ghana, populated entirely by white people. There's already enough stick going around over cultural appropriation coopting. |

Let's see... up at 4:00 a.m. Read a bit. Did mead stuff. Made breakfast. Felt like shit. Thought some fresh air would do the trick. Drove over the mountain to Fermentaion Trap to pick up brewy stuff.
Doubled back and drove up the mountain onto Skyline Drive to watch the storm roll in. Started running a fever. Decided to skip movie night at Mallard Lodge (phooey). Came home. Posted to LJ. Bed now. |

I'm not happy about fermentation coming to such an abrupt halt after racking batch 03, so I ganked it up with 1.5 tsp yeast energizer and 3 tsp yeast nutrient. Poured off some must into a 1-gal jug and aerated.
Also don't want the Presidential Melomel to mold, so added the same, plus 0.5 tsp potassium metabisulphate and aerated in the same jug after a light rinse with sanitizer.
Itty-bitty mold spot in the airlock (on the out-side of the vodka), so I scrubbed them both with a brush and sanitizer.
Everything was sanitized as usual with One-Step. |

So. If you have a Toys'r'Us, and you were looking to buy the BSG mini-mates and the new Sam Anders figure, you might wanna check 'em. Mine still has two Longshots, and a whole rack of minis.
However.
I can't decide, but I think there is now a topper to the Caprica that CAME WITH THE ROCK she used to hit D'Anna... Sam comes with a pair of boots. To put outside the bunkroom door. (Lizbeth mentioned them, but I assumed they were the switch his feet off type)
SAM COMES EQUIPPED FOR PORN.
I, um, might also have a wee!Hellboy and Golden Army soldier. And a Doral (oops) and a D'Anna (who comes with YET ANOTHER APOLLO). And the Scarlett figure from the new, horrible, GI Joe movie. Because she is pretty and will break your face if you look at her wrong. And has boobs. And a Bishop, because nothing says love like shoving your time-traveling dude into a tiny piece of plastic (I swear, the look on his face is, "OMG SOMEONE SHRUNK ME, HELP."). Bishop, of course, comes with Yet Another Wolverine (I think I'll gift him to ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) dlly tonight). I'll leave the reasons for you to decide. |
