Today I looked at the last five weeks' or so Arthur, King of Time and Space, including the one dated tomorrow, trying to see them with a new reader's eye. Backwards, to increase dissociation. I was wondering whether each gag stood alone well; or, failing that, intrigued rather than put off. "I get it," or, "I wonder who these characters are," rather than, "Screw this." I think if it were me coming on one of them cold - even the individual gags in the Serenity parody, even if I hadn't seen it - I'd check them out further, if only because I'm a King Arthur fan. That's pretty okay.
